Surah 2, ayah 170

  1. وَاِذَااور جب
  2. قِیْلَکہا جاتا ہے
  3. لَهُمُان کے لیے
  4. اتَّبِعُوْاپیروی کرو
  5. مَاۤاس کی جو
  6. اَنْزَلَاتارا
  7. اللّٰهُاللہ نے
  8. قَالُوْاوہ کہتے ہیں
  9. بَلْبلکہ
  10. نَتَّبِعُہم پیروی کریں گے
  11. مَاۤاس کی جو
  12. اَلْفَیْنَاجو پایا ہم نے
  13. عَلَیْهِاس پر
  14. اٰبَآءَنَا ؕاپنے آباؤاجداد کو
  15. اَوَلَوْکیا بھلا اگرچہ
  16. كَانَہوں
  17. اٰبَآؤُهُمْان کے آباؤ اجداد
  18. لَانہ
  19. یَعْقِلُوْنَعقل رکھتے
  20. شَیْـًٔاکسی چیز کی
  21. وَّلَااور نہ
  22. یَهْتَدُوْنَوہ ہدایت یافتہ ہوں

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

ن سے جب کہا جاتا ہے کہ اللہ نے جو احکام نازل کیےہیں ان کی پیروی کرو تو جواب دیتے ہیں کہ ہم تو اسی طریقے کی پیروی کریں گےجس پر ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو پایا ہے۔1 اچھا اگر ان کے باپ دادا نے عقل سے کچھ بھی کام نہ لیا ہو اور راہ راست نہ پائی ہو تو کیا پھر بھی یہ انہیں کی پیروی کیے چلے جائیں گے؟

  1. یعنی ان پابندیوں کے لیے ان کے پاس کوئی سَنَد اور کوئی حجّت اس کے سوا نہیں ہے کہ باپ دادا سے یُوں ہی ہوتا چلا آیا ہے۔ نادان سمجھتے ہیں کہ کسی طریقے کی پیروی کے لیے یہ حجّت بالکل کافی ہے۔

Bayan-ul-Quran

اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ پیروی کرو اس کی جو اللہ نے نازل کیا ہے وہ جواب میں کہتے ہیں کہ ہم تو پیروی کریں گے اس طریقے کی جس پر ہم نے اپنے آباء و اجداد کو پایا ہے اگرچہ ان کے آباء و اَجداد نہ کسی بات کو سمجھ پائے ہوں اور نہ ہدایت یافتہ ہوئے ہوں (پھر بھی وہ اپنے آباء و اَجداد ہی کی پیروی کرتے رہیں گے ؟)

Commentary

آیت 170 وَاِذَا قِیْلَ لَہُمُ اتَّبِعُوْا مَآ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰہُ قَالُوْا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَآ اَلْفَیْنَا عَلَیْہِ اٰبَآءَ نَا ط اَوَلَوْ کَانَ اٰبَآؤُہُمْ لاَ یَعْقِلُوْنَ شَیْءًا وَّلاَ یَہْتَدُوْنَ سورۃ البقرۃ کے تیسرے رکوع کی پہلی آیت جہاں نوع انسانی کو خطاب کر کے عبادتِ رب کی دعوت دی گئی کے ضمن میں وضاحت کی گئی تھی کہ جو لوگ تم سے پہلے گزر چکے ہیں وہ بھی تو مخلوق تھے جیسے تم مخلوق ہو ‘ جیسے تم سے خطا ہوسکتی ہے ان سے بھی ہوئی ‘ جیسے تم غلطی کرسکتے ہو انہوں نے بھی کی۔
