  1. وَاِذْاور جب
  2. جَعَلْنَابنایا ہم نے
  3. الْبَیْتَاس گھر ( خانہ کعبہ کو)
  4. مَثَابَةًلوٹنے کی جگہ/ مرجع
  5. لِّلنَّاسِلوگوں کے لئے
  6. وَاَمْنًا ؕاور امن کی جگہ
  7. وَاتَّخِذُوْااور بنالو
  8. مِنْسے / کو
  9. مَّقَامِمقام
  10. اِبْرٰهٖمَابراہیم کو
  11. مُصَلًّی ؕنماز کی جگ
  12. وَعَهِدْنَاۤاور حکم دیا ہم / تاکید کی ہم نے / عہد لیا ہم نے
  13. اِلٰۤیسے
  14. اِبْرٰهٖمَابراھیم
  15. وَاِسْمٰعِیْلَاور اسماعیل سے
  16. اَنْیہ کہ
  17. طَهِّرَاتم دونوں پاک و صاف کردو
  18. بَیْتِیَمیرے گھر کو
  19. لِلطَّآىِٕفِیْنَواسطے ان کے جو طواف کرنے والے ہیں
  20. وَالْعٰكِفِیْنَاور جو اعتکاف کرنے والے ہیں
  21. وَالرُّكَّعِاور رکوع کرنے والے ہیں
  22. السُّجُوْدِاور سجدہ کرنے والے ہیں

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اور یہ کہ ہم نے اس گھر (کعبے) کو لوگوں کے لیے مرکز اور امن کی جگہ قرار دیاتھا اور لوگوں کو حکم دیا تھا کہ ابراہیمؑ جہاں عبادت کے لیے کھڑا ہو تا ہے اس مقام کو مستقل جائے نماز بنالو، اور ابرہیم ؑاور اسماعیل ؑ کو تاکید کی تھی کہ میرے اس گھر کو طواف اور اعتکاف اور رکوع اورسجدہ کرنے والوں کے لیے پاک رکھو۔1

  1. پاک رکھنے سے مراد صرف یہی نہیں ہے کہ کُوڑے کرکٹ سے اُسے پاک رکھا جائے ۔ خدا کے گھر کی اصل پاکی یہ ہے کہ اس میں خدا کے سوا کسی کا نام بلند نہ ہو۔ جس نے خانہء خدا  میں خدا کے سوا کسی دُوسرے کو مالک ، معبُود، حاجت روا اور فریاد رس کی حیثیت سے پکارا، اس نے حقیقت میں اُسے گندا کر دیا۔ یہ آیت ایک نہایت لطیف طریقے سے مشرکینِ قریش کے جُرم کی طرف اشارہ کر رہی ہے کہ یہ ظالم لوگ ابراہیم ؑ اور اسماعیل ؑ کے وارث ہونے پر فخر تو کرتے ہیں ، مگر وراثت کا حق ادا کرنے کے بجائے اُلٹا اس حق کو پامال کر رہے ہیں۔ لہٰذا جو وعدہ ابراہیم ؑ سے کیا گیا تھا، اس سے جس طرح بنی اسرائیل مستثنیٰ ہوگئے ہیں، اسی طرح یہ مشرک بنی اسمٰعیل بھی اس سے مستثنیٰ ہیں۔
