Surah 2, ayah 115

وَلِلّٰهِاور اللہ ہی کے لئے ہے
الْمَشْرِقُمشرق
وَالْمَغْرِبُ ۗاورمغرب
فَاَیْنَمَاتو جہاں کہیں / جدھر بھی
تُوَلُّوْاتم منہ موڑو گے
فَثَمَّتو وہیں / اسی جگہ
وَجْهُذات ہے / چہرہ ہے
اللّٰهِ ؕاللہ کا
اِنَّبیشک
اللّٰهَاللہ
وَاسِعٌوسعت والا ہے
عَلِیْمٌجاننے والا ہے
۟

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

مشرق اور مغرب سب اللہ کے ہیں۔ جس طرف بھی تم رُخ کرو گے ، اسی طرف اللہ کا رُخ ہے¹اللہ بڑی وسعت والا ہے اور سب کچھ جاننے والا ہے۔²

یعنی اللہ نہ شرقی ہے، نہ غربی۔ وہ تمام سمْتوں اور مقاموں کا مالک ہے، مگر خود کسی سمت یا کسی مقام میں مقید نہیں ہے۔ لہٰذا اس کی عبادت کے لیے کسی سمْت یا کسی مقام کو مقرر کرنے کے معنی یہ نہیں ہیں کہ اللہ وہاں یا اس طرف رہتا ہے۔ اور نہ یہ کوئی جھگڑنے اور بحث کرنے کے قابل بات ہے کہ پہلے تم وہاں یا اس طرف عبادت کرتے تھے، اب تم نے اس جگہ یا سمْت کو کیوں بدل دیا۔
یعنی اللہ تعالیٰ محدُود، تنگ دل، تنگ نظر اور تنگ دست نہیں ہے ، جیسا کہ تم لوگوں نے اپنے اوپر قیاس کر کے اسے سمجھ رکھا ہے، بلکہ اس کی خدائی بھی وسیع ہے اور اس کا زاویہء نظر اور دائرہٴ فیض بھی وسیع اور وہ یہ بھی جانتا ہے کہ اس کا کونسا بندہ کہاں کس وقت کس نیت سے اس کو یاد کر رہا ہے۔

اور مشرق اور مغرب سب اللہ کے ہیں یقیناً اللہ بہت وسعت والا سب کچھ جاننے والا ہے

Commentary

آیت 115 وَلِلّٰہِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَالْمَغْرِبُق یعنی اگر ہم مغرب کی طرف رخ کرتے ہیں تو اس کے معنی یہ نہیں ہیں کہ اللہ مغرب میں ہے معاذ اللہ۔ اللہ تو جہت اور مقام سے ماورا ہے ‘ وراء الوراء ثم وراء الوراء ہے۔ یہ تو یکسانیت پیدا کرنے کے لیے اور اجتماعی رنگ دینے کے لیے ایک چیز کو قبلہ بنا دیا گیا ہے۔ یہ تو ایک علامت ہے۔ غالبؔ نے کیا خوب کہا ہے : ؂ َ ہے پرے سرحد ادراک سے اپنا مسجود قبلے کو اہل نظر قبلہ نما کہتے ہیں !قبلہ ہمارا مسجود تو نہیں ہے ! فَاَیْنَمَا تُوَلُّوْا فَثَمَّ وَجْہُ اللّٰہِ ط اِنَّ اللّٰہَ وَاسِعٌ عَلِیْمٌ ۔ وہ بہت وسعت والا ہے ‘ وہ کسی بھی سمت میں محدود نہیں ہے ‘ اور ہر شے کا جاننے والا ہے۔تحویل قبلہ کی تمہید کے طور پر ایک آیت کہہ کر اب پھر اصل سلسلۂ کلام جوڑا جا رہا ہے :
