یا آپ کے لیے سونے کا ایک محل (تعمیر) ہوجائے یا آپ آسمان میں چڑھ جائیں اور ہم آپ کے (آسمان میں) چڑھنے کو بھی نہیں مانیں گے یہاں تک کہ آپ اتار لائیں ایک کتاب جسے ہم خود پڑھیں آپ کہہ دیجیے کہ میرا رب پاک ہے میں نہیں ہوں مگر ایک بشر رسول

Commentary
وَلَنْ نُّؤْمِنَ لِرُقِيِّكَ حَتّٰى تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْنَا كِتٰبًا نَّقْرَؤُهٗ ان لوگوں کے ان تمام مطالبات کے جواب میں صرف ایک بات فرمائی گئی :قُلْ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيْ هَلْ كُنْتُ اِلَّا بَشَرًا رَّسُوْلًایعنی میں بھی تمہاری طرح کا ایک انسان ہوں۔ میں بھی اسی طرح پیدا ہوا ہوں جس طرح تم سب لوگ پیدا ہوئے ہو۔ میں تمہاری ہی طرح کھاتا پیتا ہوں دنیا کے کام کاج کرتا ہوں بازاروں میں چلتا پھرتا ہوں اور میں نے ہر سطح پر کاروبار بھی کیا ہے۔ میں تمہارے درمیان ایک عمر گزار چکا ہوں اور میری سیرت اور اخلاق و کردار روز روشن کی طرح تمہارے سامنے ہے۔ مجھ میں اور تم میں بنیادی فرق یہ ہے کہ میرے پاس اللہ کی طرف سے وحی آتی ہے اور اللہ کا وہ پیغام جو بذریعہ وحی مجھ تک پہنچتا ہے وہ میں تم لوگوں تک پہنچانے پر مامور ہوں۔اگرچہ سیرت و کردار اور مرتبہ رسالت و نبوت کے اعتبار سے عام انسانوں سے نبی اکرم کی کوئی مناسبت نہیں مگر عام بشری تقاضوں کے حوالے سے انہیں یہ جواب دیا گیا کہ میں بھی ایک انسان ہی ہوں۔
