  1. وَمِنَمیں سے
  2. الَّیْلِاور رات
  3. فَتَهَجَّدْپس تہجد پڑھو
  4. بِهٖاس میں
  5. نَافِلَةًنفل ہیں/ زائد ہیں
  6. لَّكَ ۖۗآپ کے لئے
  7. عَسٰۤیامید ہے
  8. اَنْیہ کہ
  9. یَّبْعَثَكَپہنچادے تجھ کو
  10. رَبُّكَرب تیرا
  11. مَقَامًامقام
  12. مَّحْمُوْدًامحمود پر

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اور رات کو تہجّد پڑھو،1 یہ تمہارے لیے نفل ہے2، بعید نہیں کہ تمہارا ربّ تمہیں مقامِ محمُود3 پر فائز کر دے

Footnotes (the author's commentary)

  1. تہجد کے معنی ہیں نیند توڑ کر اُٹھنے کے ۔ پس رات کے وقت تہجد کرنے کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ رات کا ایک حصہ سونے کے بعد پھر اُٹھ کر نماز پڑھی جائے۔

  2. نفل کے معنی ہیں”فرض سے زائد“۔ اس سے خود بخود یہ اشارہ نکل آیا کہ وہ پانچ نمازیں جن کے اوقات کا نظام پہلی آیت میں بیان کیا گیا تھا، فرض ہیں، اور یہ چھٹی  نماز فرض سے زائد ہے۔

  3. یعنی دنیا اور آخرت میں تم کو ایسے مرتبے پر پہنچا دے جہاں تم  محمود خلائق ہو کر رہو، ہر طرف سے تم پر مدح و ستائش کی بارش ہو، اورتمہاری ہستی ایک قابل تعریف ہستی بن کر رہے۔آج تمہارے مخالفین تمہاری تواضع گالیوں اور علامتوں سے کر رہے ہیں اور ملک بھر میں تم کو بدنام کر نے کے لیے انہوں نے جھوٹے الزامات کا ایک طوفان برپا کر رکھا ہے ، مگر وہ وقت دور نہیں ہے جبکہ دنیا  تمہاری تعریفوں سے گونج اُٹھے گی اور آخرت میں بھی تم ساری خلق کے ممدوح ہو کر رہو گے۔ قیامت کے روا نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا مقام شفاعت پر کھڑا ہونا بھی اسی مرتبہ محمود یت کا ایک حصہ ہے۔

Bayan-ul-Quran

اور رات کے ایک حصے میں آپ جاگیے اس (قرآن) کے ساتھ یہ اضافی چیز ہے آپ کے لیے امید ہے کہ آپ کا رب آپ کو مقام محمود پر فائز فرمائے گا

Commentary

آیت 79 وَمِنَ الَّيْلِ فَتَهَجَّدْ بِهٖ یہاں لفظ ”بِہٖ“ میں وہی انداز ہے جس کی تکرار اس سے پہلے ہم سورة الانعام میں دیکھ چکے ہیں۔ اَنْذِر بِہٖ ‘ ذَکِّر بِہٖ یعنی انذار تذکیر تبشیر تبلیغ سب قرآن کے ذریعے سے ہو۔ چناچہ یہاں پر رسول اللہ کو تہجد کا حکم دیا گیا تو فرمایا گیا کہ رات کا ایک حصہ آپ قرآن کے ساتھ جاگیے۔ تہجد کی نماز آپ قرآن کے ساتھ پڑھیں۔ گویا تہجد کا مقصد اور اس کی اصل روح یہی ہے کہ اس میں زیادہ سے زیادہ قرآن پڑھا جائے۔ چھوٹی چھوٹی سورتوں کے ساتھ رکعتوں کی مخصوص تعداد پوری کرلینے سے یہ مقصد پورا نہیں ہوتا۔ نَافِلَةً لَّكَ ڰ عَسٰٓي اَنْ يَّبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَّحْمُوْدًا”مقام محمود“ بہت ہی اعلیٰ اور ارفع مقام ہے جس پر آنحضور کو میدان حشر میں اور جنت میں فائز کیا جائے گا۔ ہم اس مقام کی عظمت اور کیفیت کا اندازہ اپنے تصور سے نہیں کرسکتے۔
