آیت 40 اَفَاَصْفٰىكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ بالْبَنِيْنَ وَاتَّخَذَ مِنَ الْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةِ اِنَاثًایہ اہل عرب کے اس عقیدے کا جواب ہے کہ فرشتے اللہ کی بیٹیاں ہیں۔ یہ لوگ بیٹوں پر فخر کرتے تھے اور بیٹیوں کو اپنے لیے باعث عار سمجھتے تھے۔ ان کی اسی سوچ کی بنیاد پر ان سے سوال کیا گیا ہے کہ جس چیز کو اپنے لیے عار سمجھتے ہو اسے آخر کس منطق کے مطابق اللہ سے منسوب کرتے ہو ؟
