اُس نے زمین میں پہاڑوں کی میخیں گاڑ دیں تاکہ زمین تم کو لے کر ڈُھلک نہ جائے۔1 اس نے دریا جاری کیے اور قدرتی راستے بنائے2 تاکہ تم ہدایت پاو

اس سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ سطحِ زمین پر پہاڑوں کے ابھار کا اصل فائدہ یہ ہے کہ اس کی وجہ سے زمین کی گردش اور اس کی رفتار میں انضباط پیدا ہوتا ہے ۔ قرآن مجید میں متعدد مقامات پر پہاڑوں کے اس فائدے کو نمایاں کر کے بتایا گیا ہے جس سے ہم یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ دوسرے تمام فائدے ضمنی ہیں اور اصل فائدہ یہی حرکت ِ زمین کو اضطراب سے بچا کر منضبط (Regulate ) کرنا ہے۔

یعنی وہ راستے جو ندی نالوں اور دریاؤں کے ساتھ بنتے چلے جاتے ہیں۔ ان قدرتی راستوں کی اہمیت خصوصیت کے ساتھ پہاڑی علاقوں میں محسوس ہوتی ہے، اگرچہ میدانی علاقوں میں بھی وہ کچھ کم اہم نہیں ہیں۔
