حِجر1 کے لوگ بھی رسُولوں کی تکذیب کر چکے ہیں

  1. یہ قومِ ثمود کا مرکزی شہر تھا۔ اس کے کھنڈر مدینہ کے شمال مغرب میں موجودہ شہر العُلاء سے چند میل کے فاصلہ پر واقع ہیں۔ مدینہ سے تبوک جاتے ہوئے یہ مقام شاہ راہِ عام پر ملتا ہے اور قافلے اس وادی میں سے ہو کر گزرتے ہیں، مگر نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ہدایت کے مطابق کوئی یہاں قیام نہیں کرتا۔ آٹھویں صدی ہجری میں ابن بطوطہ حج کو جاتے  ہوئے یہاں پہنچا تھا۔ وہ لکھتا ہے کہ ”یہاں سُرخ رنگ کے پہاڑوں میں قومِ ثمود کی عمارتیں موجود ہیں جو انہوں نے چٹانوں کو تراش کر ان کے اندر بنائی تھیں۔ اُن کے نقش و نگار اِس وقت تک ایسے تازہ ہیں جیسے آج بنائے گئے ہوں ۔ ان مکانات میں اب بھی سڑی گلی انسانی ہڈیاں پڑی ہوئی ملتی ہیں۔(مزید تشریح کے لیے ملاحظہ ہو سورۂ اعراف حاشیہ نمبر 57)

اور (اسی طرح) حجر والوں نے بھی مرسلین کو جھٹلایا

Commentary

آیت 80 وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ اَصْحٰبُ الْحِـجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ اصحاب الحجر سے مراد قوم ثمود ہے۔ قوم ثمود حجر کے علاقے میں آباد تھی اور ان کی طرف حضرت صالح مبعوث کیے گئے تھے۔ جیسے حضرت ہود کی قوم عاد کا ذکر ”احقاف“ کے حوالے سے بھی ہوا ہے ملاحظہ ہو سورة الاحقاف جو اس قوم کا علاقہ تھا ‘ اسی طرح قوم ثمود کا ذکر یہاں ”اصحاب الحجر“ کے نام سے ہوا ہے۔ یہاں پر ”مرسلین“ کے لفظ سے یہ بھی معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ اس قوم میں پہلے بہت سے انبیاء آئے اور پھر آخر میں رسول کی حیثیت سے حضرت صالح تشریف لائے۔
