جس نے سُورج اور چاند کو تمہارے لیے مسخّر کیا کہ لگاتار چلے جا رہے ہیں اور رات اور دن کو تمہارے لیے مسخّر کیا۔1

”تمہارے لیے مسخر کیا“ کو عام طور پر لوگو غلطی سے”تمہارے تابع کر دیا“ کے معنی میں لے لیتے ہیں، اور پھر اس مضمون کی آیات سے عجیب عجیب معنی پیدا کرنے لگتے ہیں۔ حتیٰ کہ بعض لوگ تو یہاں تک سمجھ بیٹھے کہ اِن آیات کی رو سے تسخیر سمٰوات و ارض انسان کا منتہائے مقصود ہے۔ حالانکہ انسان کے لیے ان چیزوں کو مسخر کرنے کا مطلب اس کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کو ایسے قوانین کا پابند بنا رکھا ہے جن کی بدولت وہ انسان کے لیے نافع ہو گئی ہیں۔ کشتی اگر فطرت کےچند مخصوص قوانین کی پابند نہ ہوتی تو انسان کبھی بحری سفر نہ کر سکتا۔ دریا اگر مخصوص قوانین میں جکڑے ہوئَ نہ ہوتے تو کبھی اُن سے نہریں نہ نکالی جا سکتیں۔ سورج اور چاند اور روز و شب اگر ضابطوں میں کسے ہوئے نہ ہوتے تو یہاں زندگی ہی ممکن نہ ہوتی کجا کہ ایک پھلتا پھولتا انسانی تمدن وجود میں آسکتا۔
