- فَلَمَّاتو جب
- سَمِعَتْاس نے سنا
- بِمَكْرِهِنَّان عورتوں کے مکر کو
- اَرْسَلَتْاس نے بھیجا
- اِلَیْهِنَّان کی طرف (بلا بھیجنا ان کو)
- وَاَعْتَدَتْاور تیار کیں
- لَهُنَّان کے لیے
- مُتَّكَاًتکیہ لگانے کی جگہ (مجلس)
- وَّاٰتَتْاور دی
- كُلَّہر
- وَاحِدَةٍایک عورت کو
- مِّنْهُنَّان میں سے
- سِكِّیْنًاایک چھری
- وَّقَالَتِاور کہنے لگی
- اخْرُجْنکل آ
- عَلَیْهِنَّ ۚان پر
- فَلَمَّاتو جب
- رَاَیْنَهٗۤان عورتوں نے دیکھا اس کو
- اَكْبَرْنَهٗبڑا سمجھا اس کو۔ مرعوب ہوگئیں اس سے
- وَقَطَّعْنَاور کاٹ بیٹھیں
- اَیْدِیَهُنَّاپنے ہاتھ
- وَقُلْنَاور کہنے لگیں
- حَاشَحاش۔پاکی
- لِلّٰهِللہ۔ پاکی ہے اللہ کے لیے
- مَانہیں
- هٰذَاہے یہ
- بَشَرًا ؕایک انسان
- اِنْنہیں
- هٰذَاۤیہ
- اِلَّامگر
- مَلَكٌایک فرشتہ
- كَرِیْمٌمعزز

Translation and commentary
Tafheem-ul-Quran
اس نے جو اُن کی یہ مکّارانہ باتیں سُنیں تو اُن کو بُلاوا بھیج دیا اور ان کے لیے تکیہ دار مجلس آراستہ کی1 اور ضیافت میں ہر ایک کے آگے ایک ایک چھُری رکھ دی۔ (پھر عین اُس وقت جب کہ وہ پھل کاٹ کاٹ کر کھا رہی تھیں)اس نے یُوسُف کو اشارہ کیا کہ ان کے سامنے نکل آ۔ جب ان عورتوں کی نگاہ اُس پر پڑی تو وہ دنگ رہ گئیں اور اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ بیٹھیں اور بے ساختہ پُکار اُٹھیں”حاشالِلّٰہ، یہ شخص انسان نہیں ہے، یہ تو کوئی بزرگ فرشتہ ہے۔“

یعنی ایسی مجلس جس میں مہمانوں کے لیے تکیے لگے ہوئے تھے۔ مصر کے آثار قدیمہ سے بھی اس کی تصدیق ہوتی ہے کہ ان کی مجلسوں میں تکیوں کا استعمال بہت ہوتا تھا۔ بائیبل میں اس ضیافت کا کوئی ذکر نہیں ہے البتہ تلمود میں یہ واقعہ بیان کیا گیا ہے ، مگر وہ قرآن سے بہت مختلف ہے۔ قرآن کے بیان میں جو زندگی ، جو روح، جو فطریّت اور جو اخلاقیت پائی جاتی ہے اس سے تلمود کا بیان بالکل خالی ہے۔
