وَیٰقَوْمِاور اے میری قوم
لَانہ
یَجْرِمَنَّكُمْآمادہ کرے تم کو
شِقَاقِیْۤمیری مخالفت۔ ضد
اَنْکہ
یُّصِیْبَكُمْپہنچے تم کو
مِّثْلُمانند
مَاۤاس کے جو
اَصَابَپہنچا
قَوْمَقوم
نُوْحٍنوح کو
اَوْیا
قَوْمَقوم
هُوْدٍہود کو
اَوْیا
قَوْمَقوم
صٰلِحٍ ؕصالح
وَمَااور نہیں
قَوْمُقوم
لُوْطٍلوط
مِّنْكُمْتم سے
بِبَعِیْدٍکچھ دور
۟

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اور اے برادرانِ قوم، میرے خلاف تمہاری ہٹ دھرمی کہیں یہ نوبت نہ پہنچا دے کہ آخرِ کار تم پر بھی وہی عذاب آکر رہے جو نوح ؑ یا ہُود ؑ یا صالح ؑ کی قوم پر آیا تھا۔ اور ؑ لُوط کی قوم تو تم سے کچھ زیادہ دُور بھی نہیں ہے۔¹

یعنی قوم ِ لوط کا واقعہ تو ابھی تازہ ہی ہے اور تمہارے قریب ہی کے علاقے میں پیش آچکا ہے ۔ غالبًا اُس وقت قومِ لوط کی تباہی پر چھ سات سو برس سے زیادہ نہ گزرے تھے۔ اور جغرافی حیثیت سے بھی قومِ شعیب ؑ کا ملک اس علاقے سے بالکل متصل واقع تھا جہاں قومِ لوط رہتی تھی۔
