عنقریب تمہیں خود معلوم ہو جائے گا کہ کس پر وہ عذاب آتا ہے جو اُسے رُسوا کر دے گا اور کس پر وہ بلا ٹوٹ پڑتی ہے جو ٹالے نہ ٹلے گی۔“1

یہ ایک عجیب معاملہ ہے جس پر غور کرنے سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ انسان دنیا کے ظاہر سے کس قدر دھوکا کھاتا ہے ۔ جب نوح ؑ دریا سے بہت دور خشکی پر اپنا جہاز بنا رہے ہوں گے تو فی الواقع لوگوں کو یہ ایک نہایت مضحکہ خیز فعل محسوس ہوتا ہو گا اور وہ ہنس ہنس کر کہتے ہوں گے کہ بڑے میاں کی دیوانگی آخر کو یہاں تک پہنچی کہ اب آپ خشکی میں جہاز چلائیں گے۔ اس وقت کسی کے خواب و خیال میں بھی بات نہ آسکتی ہو گی کہ چند روز بعد واقعی یہاں جہاز چلے گا ۔ وہ اس فعل کو حضرت نوج کی خرابی دماغ کا ایک صریح ثبوت قرار دیتے ہوں گے اور ایک ایک سے کہتے ہوں گے کہ اگر پہلے تمہیں اس شخص کے پاگل پن میں کچھ شبہہ تھا تو اب اپنی آنکھوں سے دیکھ لو کہ یہ کیا حرکت کر رہا ہے ۔ لیکن جو شخص حقیقت کا علم رکھتا تھا اور جسے معلوم تھا کہ کل یہاں جہاز کی کیا ضرورت پیش آنے والی ہے اسے ان لوگوں کی جہالت و بے خبری پر اور پھر ان کے احمقانہ اطمینان پر اُلٹی ہنسی آتی ہو گی اور وہ کہتا ہو گا کہ کس قدر نادان ہیں یہ لوگ کہ شامت ان کے سر پر تُلی کھڑی ہے ، میں اِنہیں خبرد ار کر چکا ہوں کہ وہ بس آیا چاہتی ہے اور ان کی آنکھوں کے سامنے اس سے بچنے کی تیاری بھی کر رہا ہوں ، مگر یہ مطمٔن بیٹھے ہیں اور اُلٹا مجھے دیوانہ سمجھ رہے ہیں ۔ اس معاملہ کو اگر پھیلا کر دیکھا جائے تو معلوم ہو گا کہ دنیا کے ظاہر و محسوس پہلو کے لحاظ سے عقلمندی و بے وقوفی کا جو معیار قائم کیا جاتا ہے وہ اُس معیار سے کس قدر مختلف ہوتا ہے جو علمِ حقیقت کے لحاظ سے قرار پاتا ہے۔ ظاہر بیں آدمی جس چیز کو انتہائی دانش مندی سمجھتا ہے وہ حقیقت شناس آدمی کی نگاہ میں انتہائی بے وقوفی ہوتی ہے، اور ظاہر بیں کے نزدیک جو چیز بالکل لغو، سراسر دیوانگی اور نرا مضحکہ ہوتی ہے ، حقیقت شناس کے لیے وہی کما دانش ، انتہائی سنجیدگی اور عین مقتضائے عقل ہوتی ہے۔

آیت 38 وَيَصْنَعُ الْفُلْكَ ۣ وَكُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ مَلَاٌ مِّنْ قَوْمِهٖ سَخِرُوْا مِنْهُ حضرت نوح اور آپ کے اہل ایمان ساتھی جس جگہ اور جس علاقے میں یہ کشتی بنار ہے تھے ظاہر ہے کہ وہاں ہر طرف خشکی ہی خشکی تھی ‘ سمندر یا دریا کا کہیں دور دور تک نام و نشان نہیں تھا۔ ان حالات میں تصور کریں کہ کیا کیا باتیں اور کیسے کیسے تمسخر آمیز فقرے کہے جاتے ہوں گے کہ اب تو معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ ان کی بالکل ہی مت ماری گئی ہے کہ خشکی پر کشتی چلانے کا ارادہ ہے !
