اور اُن پر پرندوں کے جھُنڈ کے جھُنڈ بھیج دیے1

  1. اصل میں طَیْرًااَبَابِیْل کے الفاظ استعمال ہوئے ہیں۔ اردو زبان میں چونکہ ابابیل ایک خاص قسم کے پرندے کو کہتے ہیں ا س لیے ہمارے ہاں لوگ عام طور پر یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ  ابرھہ کی فوج پر ابابیلیں بھیجی گئی تھیں۔ لیکن عربی زبان  میں ابابیل کے معنی ہیں بہت سے متفرق گروہ جو پے درپے مختلف سِمتوں سے آئیں، خواہ وہ آدمیوں کے ہوں یا جانوروں کے۔ عِکرِمہ اور قَتَادہ  کہتے ہیں کہ یہ جھُنڈ کے جھُنڈ پرندے بحرِ احمر کی طرف سے آئے تھے ۔ سعید بن جُبَیر اور عِکرِمہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس طرح کے پرندے نہ پہلے کبھی دیکھے گئے تھے نہ بعد میں دیکھے گئے۔ یہ نہ نجد کے پرندے تھے نہ حجاز کے ، اور نہ تہامَہ یعنی حجاز اور بحر ِ احمر  کے درمیان ساحلی علاقے کے۔ ابن عباس ؓ کہتے ہیں کہ ان کی چونچیں پرندوں جیسی تھیں اور پنجے کُتے جیسے۔ عِکرِمہ کا بیان ہے کہ ان کے  سر شکاری پرندوں کے سروں  جیسے تھے۔ اور تقریباً سب راویوں کا متفقہ بیان ہے کہ ہر پرندے کی چونچ میں ایک ایک کنکر تھا اور پنجوں میں دو دو کنکر۔ مکّہ کے بعض لوگوں کے پاس یہ کنکر ایک مدّت تک محفوظ رہے۔ چنانچہ ابو نُعَیم نے نَوفَل بن ابی معاویہ کا بیان نقل کیا ہے کہ میں نے وہ کنکر دیکھے ہیں جو اصحاب الفیل پر پھینکے گئے تھے۔ وہ مٹر کے چھوٹے دانے کے برابر سیاہی مائل سُرخ تھے۔ ابن عباس کی روایت ابو نُعَیم نے نقل کی ہے کہ وہ چلغوزے کے برابر تھے اور ابنِ مَرْدُوْیَہ  کی روایت میں ہے کہ بکری کی مینگنی کے برابر ۔ ظاہر ہے کہ سارے سنگریزے ایک ہی جیسے نہ ہوں گے۔ اُن میں کچھ نہ کچھ فرق ضرور ہو گا۔

آیت 2{ اَلَمْ یَجْعَلْ کَیْدَہُمْ فِیْ تَضْلِیْلٍ۔ } ”کیا اس نے ان کی تمام تدبیروں کو بےکار اور غیر موثر نہیں کردیا ؟“ اَبرہہ کی اس لشکر کشی کا مقصد انہدامِ کعبہ کے علاوہ عرب میں عیسائیت پھیلانا اور اس تجارت پر قبضہ کرنا بھی تھا جو بلاد مشرق اور رومی مقبوضات کے درمیان عربوں کے ذریعے ہوتی تھی۔
