  2. لِّكُلِّواسطے ہر اس شخص کے
  3. هُمَزَةٍجو منہ پر عیب لگاتا ہے
  4. لُّمَزَةِپیٹھ پیچھے برائیاں کرتا ہے

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

تباہی ہے ہر اُس شخص کے لیے جو (مُنہ در مُنہ) لوگوں پر طعن اور (پیٹھ پیچھے) بُرائیاں کرنے کا خوگر ہے۔1

  1. اصل الفاظ ہیں ھُمَزَۃٍ لُّمَزَۃٍ ۔ عربی زبان میں ھَمْز اور لَمْز معنی کے اعتبار سے باہم اِتنے قریب ہیں کہ کبھی دونوں ہم معنی استعمال ہوتے ہی، اور کبھی دونوں میں فرق ہوتا ہے ، مگر ایسا فرق کہ خود اہلِ زبان میں سے کچھ لوگ ھَمْز کا جو مفہوم بیان کرتے ہیں ، کچھ دوسرے لوگ وہی مفہوم لَمْز کا بیان کرتے ہیں، اور اس کے برعکس کچھ لوگ لَمْز کے جو معنی بیان کرتے ہیں، وہ دوسرے لوگوں کے نزدیک ھَمْز کے معنی ہیں۔ یہاں چونکہ دونوں لفظ ایک ساتھ آئے ہیں اور ھُمَزَ ۃٍ لُّمَزَۃٍ کے الفاظ استعمال کیے گئے ہیں  اس لیے دونوں مل کر یہ معنی دیتے ہیں کہ اُس شخص کی عادت ہی یہ بن گئی ہے کہ کہ وہ دوسروں کی تحقیر و تذلیل کرتا ہے، کسی کو دیکھ کر انگلیاں اٹھاتا اور آنکھوں سے اشارے کرتا ہے ، کسی کے نسب پر طعن کرتا ہے ، کسی کی ذات میں کیڑے نکالتا ہے، کسی پر منہ در منہ چوٹیں کرتا ہے ،  کسی کے پیٹھ پیچھے اُس کی برائیاں کرتا ہے ، کہیں چغلیاں کھا کر اور لگائی  بجھائی کر کے دوستوں کو لڑواتا اور کہیں بھائیوں میں پھوٹ ڈلواتا ہے ، لوگوں کے بُرے بُرے نام رکھتا ہے ، اُن پر چوٹیں کرتا ہے اور اُن کو عیب لگاتا ہے۔

بڑی خرابی ہے ہر اس شخص کے لیے جو لوگوں کے عیب ُ چنتا رہتا ہے اور طعنے دیتا رہتا ہے۔

Commentary

آیت 1{ وَیْلٌ لِّکُلِّ ہُمَزَۃٍ لُّمَزَۃِ۔ } ”بڑی خرابی ہے ہر اس شخص کے لیے جو لوگوں کے عیب ُ چنتا رہتا ہے اور طعنے دیتا رہتا ہے۔“ ہُمَزَۃ اور لُمَزَۃ دونوں الفاظ معنی کے اعتبار سے باہم بہت قریب ہیں۔ بعض اہل لغت کے نزدیک روبرو طعنہ زنی کرنے والے کو ہُمَزَۃ اور پس پشت عیب جوئی کرنے والے کو لُمَزَۃ کہتے ہیں ‘ جبکہ بعض اہل لغت نے ان کا معنی برعکس بیان کیا ہے۔ حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس - کا قول ہے کہ ہر چغلی کھانے والے ‘ دوستوں میں جدائی اور تفرقہ ڈالنے والے ‘ بےقصور اور بےعیب انسانوں میں نقص نکالنے والے کو ہُمَزَۃ اور لُمَزَۃ کہتے ہیں۔
