1. وَاِنَّهٗاور بیشک وہ
2. لِحُبِّمحبت میں
3. الْخَیْرِمال کی
4. لَشَدِیْدٌالبتہ سخت ہے

اور وہ مال و دولت کی محبت میں بُری طرح مُبتلا ہے۔¹

   اصل الفاظ ہیں وَاِنَّہٗ لِحُبِّ الْخَیْرِ لَشَدِیْدٌ۔ اس فقرے  کا لفظی ترجمہ یہ ہو گا کہ ” وہ خیر کی محبت میں بہت سخت ہے۔“ لیکن عربی زبان میں خیر کا لفظ نیکی اور بھلائی کے لیے مخصوص نہیں ہے بلکہ مال و دولت کے لیے بھی استعمال ہوتا ہے ۔ چنانچہ سورۂ بقرہ آیت 18۰ میں خیر بمعنی مال و دولت ہی استعمال ہوا ہے۔ یہ بات کلام کے موقع و محل سے معلوم ہوتی ہے کہ کہاں خیر کا لفظ نیکی کے  معنی میں ہے اور کہاں مال و دولت کے معنی میں۔ اِس آیت کے سِیاق و سَباق سے خود ہی یہ ظاہر ہو رہا ہے کہ اِس میں خیر مال و دولت کے معنی میں ہے نہ کہ بھلائی اور نیکی کے معنی میں، کیونکہ جو انسان اپنے ربّ کا ناشکرا ہے اور اپنے طرزِ عمل سے خود اپنی ناشکری پر شہادت دے رہا ہے ، اُس کے بارے میں یہ نہیں  کہا جا سکتا کہ وہ نیکی اور بھلائی کی محبت میں بہت سخت ہے۔
