Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

کیا یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ پیغمبر ؐ نے اسے خود تصنیف کر لیا ہے؟ کہو، ”اگر تم اپنے اس الزام میں سچے ہو تو ایک سُورة اس جیسی تصنیف کر لاوٴ اور ایک خدا کو چھوڑ کر جس جس کو بُلا سکتے ہو مدد کے لیے بلا لو۔1“

  1. عام طور پر لوگ سمجھتے ہیں کہ یہ چیلنج محض قرآن کی فصاحت و بلاغت اور اس کی ادبی خوبیوں کے لحاظ سے تھا۔ اعجاز قرآن پر جس انداز سے بحثیں کی گئی ہیں اس سے یہ غلط فہمی پیدا ہونی کچھ بعید بھی نہیں ہے ۔ لیکن قرآن کا مقام اس سے بلند تر ہے کہ وہ اپنی یکتائی و بے نظیری کے دعوے کی بنیاد محض اپنے لفظی محاسن پر رکھے۔ بلاشبہہ قرآن اپنی زبان کے لحاظ سے بھی لاجواب ہے ، مگر وہ اصل چیز جس کی بنا پر یہ کہا گیا ہے کہ انسانی دماغ ایسی کتاب تصنیف نہیں کر سکتا، اس کے مضامین اور اس کی تعلیمات ہیں۔ اس میں اعجاز کے جو جو پہلو ہیں اور جن وجوہ سے ان کا من جانب اللہ  ہونا یقینی اور انسان کی ایسی تصنیف پر قادر ہونا غیر ممکن ہے ان کو خود قرآن میں مختلف مواقع پر بیان کر دیا گیا ہے اور ہم ایسے تمام مقامات کی تشریح پہلے بھی کرتے رہے ہیں اور آئندہ بھی کریں گے۔ اس لیے یہاں بخوف طوالت اس بحث سے اجتناب کیا جاتا ہے۔ (تشریح کے یلے ملاحظہ ہو الطور، حاشیہ نمبر 2۶ ، 27)

Bayan-ul-Quran

کیا یہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس کو پیغمبر نے خود گھڑ لیا ہے ؟ آپ ﷺ (ان سے) کہیے کہ لے آؤ تم بھی ایک سورت اس جیسی اور (اس کے لیے) بلا لو جس کو بلا سکتے ہو اللہ کے سوا اگر تم سچے ہو۔

Commentary

آیت 38 اَمْ یَقُوْلُوْنَ افْتَرٰٹہُ یہ لوگ اس قرآن کے بارے میں کہتے ہیں کہ یہ محمد کی اپنی تصنیف ہے۔ انہوں نے خود یہ کلام موزوں کرلیا ہے۔قُلْ فَاْتُوْا بِسُوْرَۃٍ مِّثْلِہٖ وَادْعُوْا مَنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰہِ اِنْ کُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِیْنَ یہ چیلنج سورة البقرۃ میں بھی ہے جو کہ مدنی ہے ‘ جبکہ مکی سورتوں میں تو اسے متعدد بار دہرایا گیا ہے۔ سورة ہود میں اس جیسی دس سورتیں بنا کرلے آنے کا چیلنج دیا گیا ہے اور یہاں اس سورت میں یہ چیلنج گویا برسبیل تنزل آخری درجہ میں پیش کیا گیا ہے کہ چلو اس جیسی ایک سورت ہی بنا کر دکھادو۔
