Bayan-ul-Quran
اور نہیں تھے لوگ مگر ایک ہی امت پھر (بعد میں) انہوں نے اختلاف کیا۔ اور اگر ایک بات تیرے رب کی طرف سے پہلے سے طے نہ پا چکی ہوتی تو فیصلہ کردیا جاتا ان کے مابین ان تمام چیزوں میں جن میں یہ اختلاف کر رہے ہیں۔

Commentary
آیت 19 وَمَا کَان النَّاس الآَّ اُمَّۃً وَّاحِدَۃً فَاخْتَلَفُوْا ط ”اور نہیں تھے لوگ مگر ایک ہی امت ‘ پھر بعد میں انہوں نے اختلاف کیا۔“یہ مضمون سورة البقرۃ میں بھی گزر چکا ہے۔ حضرت آدم علیہ السلام سے انسانوں کی نسل چلی ہے ‘ چناچہ جس طرح تمام انسان نسلاً ایک تھے اسی طرح نظریاتی طور پر بھی وہ سب ایک ہی امت تھے۔ بنی نوع انسان کے مابین تمام نظریاتی اختلافات بعد کی پیداوار ہیں۔ وَلَوْلاَ کَلِمَۃٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَّبِّکَ ”اور اگر ایک بات تیرے رب کی طرف سے پہلے سے طے نہ پا چکی ہوتی“اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہر فرد اور ہر قوم کے لیے ایک اجل مقرر فر ما دی ہے۔ اسی طرح پوری کائنات کی اجل بھی طے شدہ ہے۔ اگر یہ سب کچھ طے نہ ہوچکا ہوتا :لَقُضِیَ بَیْنَہُمْ فِیْمَا فِیْہِ یَخْتَلِفُوْنَ ”تو فیصلہ کردیا جاتا ان کے مابین ان تمام چیزوں میں جن میں یہ اختلاف کر رہے ہیں۔“
