آپ ﷺ (ان سے) کہیے کہ اگر اللہ چاہتا تو نہ میں یہ قرآن تمہیں پڑھ کر سناتا اور نہ وہ تمہیں اس سے واقف کرتا میں تمہارے درمیان ایک عمر گزار چکا ہوں اس سے پہلے۔ تو کیا تم لوگ عقل سے کام نہیں لیتے !

Commentary
آیت 16 قُلْ لَّوْ شَآء اللّٰہُ مَا تَلَوْتُہٗ عَلَیْکُمْ وَلاآ اَدْرٰٹکُمْ بِہٖز ”آپ ﷺ ان سے کہیے کہ اگر اللہ چاہتا تو نہ میں یہ قرآن تمہیں پڑھ کر سناتا اور نہ وہ تمہیں اس سے واقف کرتا“فَقَدْ لَبِثْتُ فِیْکُمْ عُمُرًا مِّنْ قَبْلِہٖط اَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُوْنَ ”میں تمہارے درمیان ایک عمر گزار چکا ہوں اس سے پہلے۔ تو کیا تم لوگ عقل سے کام نہیں لیتے !“میں پچھلے چالیس برس سے تمہارے درمیان زندگی بسر کر رہا ہوں۔ تم مجھے اچھی طرح سے جانتے ہو۔ تم جانتے ہو کہ میں شاعر نہیں ہوں ‘ تمہیں اچھی طرح معلوم ہے کہ میں کاہن یا جادو گر بھی نہیں ہوں ‘ تمہیں یہ بھی علم ہے کہ مجھے ان چیزوں سے کبھی کوئی دلچسپی نہیں رہی اور میں نے ان چیزوں کو سیکھنے کے لیے کبھی مشق یا ریاضت بھی نہیں کی۔ تم اس حقیقت کو بھی خوب سمجھتے ہو کہ کوئی شخص ایک دن میں کبھی شاعر یا کاہن نہیں بن جاتا۔ ان تمام حقائق کا علم رکھنے کے باوجود بھی تم مجھے ایسے الزامات دیتے ہو ‘ تو کیا تم لوگ تعصب کی بنا پر عقل سے بالکل ہی عاری ہوگئے ہو ؟
