حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّاءَ، عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ، عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، قَالَ سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَجُلاً يُثْنِي عَلَى رَجُلٍ وَيُطْرِيهِ فِي الْمِدْحَةِ فَقَالَ " لَقَدْ أَهْلَكْتُمْ أَوْ قَطَعْتُمْ ظَهْرَ الرَّجُلِ " .
حضرت ابو موسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے ، کہا : نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک شخص کو سنا ، وہ کسی آدمی کی تعریف کررہا تھا ، تعریف میں اسے بہت بڑھا چڑھا رہا تھا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " تم لوگوں نے اس کو ہلاک کرڈالا یا ( فرمایا : ) تم لوگوں نے اس آدمی کی کمرتوڑ دی ۔
