قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عِتْبَانَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ الأَنْصَارِيَّ، ثُمَّ أَحَدَ بَنِي سَالِمٍ قَالَ غَدَا عَلَىَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " لَنْ يُوَافِيَ عَبْدٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَقُولُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ. يَبْتَغِي بِهِ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ، إِلاَّ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ النَّارَ ".
انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ عتبان بن مالک انصاری رضی اللہ عنہ سے میں نے سنا، پھر بنی سالم کے ایک صاحب سے سنا، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم میرے یہاں تشریف لائے اور فرمایا ”کوئی بندہ جب قیامت کے دن اس حالت میں پیش ہو گا کہ اس نے کلمہ «لا إله إلا الله» کا اقرار کیا ہو گا اور اس سے اس کا مقصود اللہ کی خوشنودی حاصل کرنا ہو گی تو اللہ تعالیٰ دوزخ کی آگ کو اس پر حرم کر دے گا۔“
