حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَحْمُودُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، وَزَعَمَ، مَحْمُودٌ أَنَّهُ عَقَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَالَ وَعَقَلَ مَجَّةً مَجَّهَا مِنْ دَلْوٍ كَانَتْ فِي دَارِهِمْ.
ہم سے معاذ بن اسد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو عبداللہ بن مبارک نے خبر دی، انہیں معمر نے خبر دی، ان سے زہری نے بیان کیا کہ مجھے محمود بن ربیع انصاری نے خبر دی اور وہ کہتے تھے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی یہ بات خوب میرے ذہن میں محفوظ ہے۔ انہیں یاد ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے ایک ڈول میں سے پانی لے کر مجھ پر کلی کر دی تھی۔
