حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ، يُحَدِّثُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ - يَعْنِي حَدِيثَ الزُّهْرِيِّ الَّذِي ذَكَرْنَا - فَقَالَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ فَضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِيَدِهِ بَيْنَ عُنُقِي وَكَتِفِي ثُمَّ قَالَ " أَقِتَالاً أَىْ سَعْدُ إِنِّي لأُعْطِي الرَّجُلَ " .
محمد بن سعد یہ حدیث بیان کرتے ہیں یعنی زہری مذکورہ با لا حدیث انھوں نے اپنی حدیث میں کہا : تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے میری گردن اور کندھے کے در میان اپنا ہا تھ مارا اور فر ما یا : " جنگ کر رہے ہو؟ اے سعد !میں ایک شخص کو دیتا ہوں ۔ ۔ ۔ ( آگے اسی طرح ہے جس طرح پہلی روایت میں ہے)
