حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي قَيْسٌ، قَالَ أَتَيْتُ خَبَّابًا وَقَدِ اكْتَوَى سَبْعًا فِي بَطْنِهِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لَوْلاَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَانَا أَنْ نَدْعُوَ بِالْمَوْتِ لَدَعَوْتُ بِهِ.
ہم سے محمد بن مثنیٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے یحییٰ قطان نے بیان کیا، ان سے اسماعیل بن ابی خالد نے بیان کیا، ان سے قیس بن ابی حازم نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ میں خباب بن ارت رضی اللہ عنہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا انہوں نے اپنے پیٹ پر سات داغ لگوا رکھے تھے، میں نے سنا کہ وہ کہہ رہے تھے کہ اگر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں موت کی دعا کرنے سے منع نہ کیا ہوتا تو میں اس کی ضرور دعا کر لیتا۔
