حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَىُّ الإِسْلاَمِ خَيْرٌ قَالَ " تُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ، وَتَقْرَأُ السَّلاَمَ عَلَى مَنْ عَرَفْتَ، وَعَلَى مَنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْ ".
ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے یزید نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوالخیر نے، ان سے عبداللہ بن عمر و رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ ایک صاحب نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا: اسلام کی کون سی حالت افضل ہے؟ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا یہ کہ ( اللہ کی مخلوق کو ) کھانا کھلاؤ اور سلام کرو، اسے بھی جسے تم پہچانتے ہو اور اسے بھی جسے نہیں پہچانتے۔
