حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، قَالَ قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ وَلَمَّا يَلْحَقْ بِهِمْ قَالَ " الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ ". تَابَعَهُ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ.
ہم سے ابونعیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے سفیان ثوری نے بیان کیا، ان سے اعمش نے، ان سے ابووائل نے اور ان سے ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیا گیا ایک شخص ایک جماعت سے محبت رکھتا ہے لیکن اس سے مل نہیں سکا ہے؟ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ انسان اس کے ساتھ ہے جس سے وہ محبت رکھتا ہے۔ سفیان کے ساتھ اس روایت کی متابعت ابومعاویہ اور محمد بن عبید نے کی ہے۔
