وَقَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي أَوْفَى ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ كَانَ أَصْحَابُ الشَّجَرَةِ أَلْفًا وَثَلاَثَمِائَةٍ، وَكَانَتْ أَسْلَمُ ثُمْنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ. تَابَعَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ.
اور عبیداللہ بن معاذ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے ان کے والد نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے عمرو بن مرہ نے ‘ ان سے عبداللہ بن ابی اوفی رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ درخت والوں ( بیعت رضوان کرنے والوں ) کی تعداد تیرہ سو تھی۔ قبیلہ اسلم مہاجرین کا آٹھواں حصہ تھے۔ اس روایت کی متابعت محمد بن بشار نے کی ‘ ان سے ابوداؤد طیالسی نے بیان کیا اور ان سے شعبہ نے۔
