حَدَّثَنِي قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الْخَنْدَقِ، وَهُمْ يَحْفِرُونَ، وَنَحْنُ نَنْقُلُ التُّرَابَ عَلَى أَكْتَادِنَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " اللَّهُمَّ لاَ عَيْشَ إِلاَّ عَيْشُ الآخِرَهْ، فَاغْفِرْ لِلْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالأَنْصَارِ ".
ہم سے قتیبہ بن سعید نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے عبدالعزیز بن ابی حازم نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوحازم نے اور ان سے سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ خندق میں تھے۔ صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم خندق کھود رہے تھے اور مٹی ہم اپنے کاندھوں پر اٹھا اٹھا کر نکال رہے تھے۔ اس وقت آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دعا کی «اللهم لا عيش إلا عيش الآخره، فاغفر للمهاجرين والأنصار» ”اے اللہ! آخرت کی زندگی ہی بس آرام کی زندگی ہے۔ پس تو انصار اور مہاجرین کی مغفرت فرما۔“
