وَقَالَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرٌو، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الأَشَجِّ، أَنَّ كُرَيْبًا، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ لَيْسَ السَّعْىُ بِبَطْنِ الْوَادِي بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ سُنَّةً، إِنَّمَا كَانَ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَسْعَوْنَهَا وَيَقُولُونَ لاَ نُجِيزُ الْبَطْحَاءَ إِلاَّ شَدًّا
اور عبداللہ بن وہب نے بیان کیا، انہیں عمرو نے خبر دی، انہیں بکیر بن اشج نے اور عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے مولا کریب نے ان سے بیان کیا کہ عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے بتایا صفا اور مروہ کے درمیان نالے کے اندر زور سے دوڑنا سنت نہیں ہے یہاں جاہلیت کے دور میں لوگ تیزی کے ساتھ دوڑا کرتے تھے اور کہتے تھے کہ ہم تو اس پتھریلی جگہ سے دوڑ ہی کر پار ہوں گے۔
