حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُقَاتِلٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " لاَ تَدْخُلُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلاَ صُورَةُ تَمَاثِيلَ ".
ہم سے محمد بن مقاتل نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو عبداللہ بن مبارک نے خبر دی، انہیں معمر نے خبر دی، انہیں زہری نے، انہیں عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ نے، اور انہوں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا، وہ کہتے تھے کہ میں نے ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، وہ کہتے تھے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”فرشتے اس گھر میں داخل نہیں ہوتے جس میں کتے ہوں اور اس میں بھی نہیں جس میں جاندار کی تصویر ہو۔“
