أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيَّ الْقَيُّومَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
I ask forgiveness of Allah the Almighty, there is no god but Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining, and I turn to Him in repentance.
Any time.
Sunan Abi Dawud; Jamiʿ al-Tirmidhi; al-Ḥākim · Narrated by Zayd, the freed slave of the Prophet
Said once.
-
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
I ask Allah for forgiveness and I turn to Him in repentance.
Any time; the Prophet sought forgiveness more than seventy, and in another report a hundred, times a day.

Said 100 times.

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ
Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him; glory be to Allah the Almighty.
Two words light on the tongue, heavy in the balance, beloved to the Most Merciful.

Said once.
-
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، وَلَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ
Glory be to Allah, all praise is for Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.
The words most beloved to Allah; it does not matter which you begin with.
Sahih Muslim · Narrated by Samurah ibn Jundub and Abu Hurayrah
Said once.

لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
There is no might and no power except with Allah.
A treasure from the treasures of Paradise.
Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim · Narrated by Abu Mūsā al-Ashʿarī
Said once.

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ
Glory be to Allah the Almighty and praise be to Him.
Whoever says it, a palm tree is planted for him in Paradise.
Jamiʿ al-Tirmidhi · Narrated by Jābir ibn ʿAbdillah
Said once.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ
There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. Allah is the Greatest, a great greatness; much praise is for Allah; glory be to Allah, Lord of the worlds; there is no might and no power except with Allah, the Almighty, the Wise.
Taught to a Bedouin who asked for words to say.
Sahih Muslim · Narrated by Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ
Said once.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي، وَارْحَمْنِي، وَاهْدِنِي، وَارْزُقْنِي
O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me and provide for me.
After the words above.

Said once.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي، وَارْحَمْنِي، وَاهْدِنِي، وَعَافِنِي، وَارْزُقْنِي
O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me well-being and provide for me.
Taught to those who newly embraced Islam, after learning the prayer.
Sahih Muslim · Narrated by Ṭāriq ibn Ashyam al-Ashjaʿī
Said once.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ
There is no god but Allah.
The best of remembrance.
Jamiʿ al-Tirmidhi · Narrated by Jābir ibn ʿAbdillah
Said once.
-
لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things.
Said ten times, it is like freeing four people from the children of Ismail.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent prayers upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim; You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim; You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
Any time; whoever sends one prayer upon the Prophet, Allah sends ten upon him (Sahih Muslim, narrated by Abu Hurayrah).
