الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَٰذَا الثَّوْبَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ
All praise is for Allah who clothed me with this and provided it for me, with no might or power from me.
Putting on a garment.
Sunan Abi Dawud; Jamiʿ al-Tirmidhi; Sunan Ibn Mājah · Narrated by Muʿādh ibn Anas
Said once.

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ، أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ
O Allah, to You belongs all praise; You clothed me with it. I ask You for its good and the good it was made for, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil it was made for.
Putting on a new garment.

Said once.

تُبْلِي وَيُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَىٰ
May you wear it out, and may Allah replace it.
To someone wearing new clothes.

In the name of Allah.
Taking off clothes.

Said once.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from male and female evil ones.
Before entering the toilet.

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
After completing wudu.
Sahih Muslim · Narrated by ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb
Said once.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ
O Allah, make me among those who repent and make me among those who purify themselves.
After wudu, after the two testimonies.
Jamiʿ al-Tirmidhi · Narrated by ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb
Said once.

سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ
Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I ask Your forgiveness and I turn to You in repentance.
After wudu.
al-Nasāʾi, ʿAmal al-Yawm wa’l-Laylah · Narrated by Abu Saʿīd al-Khudrī
Said once.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
In the name of Allah. I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might and no power except with Allah.
Leaving the house.
Sunan Abi Dawud and Jamiʿ al-Tirmidhi · Narrated by Anas ibn Mālik
Said once.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أُضَلَّ، أَوْ أَزِلَّ أَوْ أُزَلَّ، أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ، أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from going astray or being led astray, from slipping or being made to slip, from wronging or being wronged, from behaving foolishly or being treated foolishly.
Leaving the house.

Said once.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا، وَبِسْمِ اللَّهِ خَرَجْنَا، وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا
In the name of Allah we enter, in the name of Allah we leave, and in our Lord we place our trust.
Entering the house.
Sunan Abi Dawud · Narrated by Abu Mālik al-Ashʿarī. Then greet the people of the house
